Home Sweet Home
It is late and I am exhausted. But you know what? I am up too late at my NEW HOUSE! We moved in a little over a week ago and are loving it! I don't have any pictures to share yet (I know I am a slacker). As soon as I get all of the boxes put away and some art on the walls, I will post some pictures for you all to enjoy. But better than that, I can't wait to have you all over to our home! Please visit soon!

Long Time No Write
Yeah, it's been a while. I would love to say that something amazing and earth shattering has happened to result in my absence, but really it is the lack of anything important to share. What can I say? My days are (for the most part) extraordinarily uninteresting. I find myself not knowing what day it is and then when I find out what day it actually is not knowing how I got there. Is this typical for new mommy-hood? I am not sure.
But for those sad few who check this thing in the hopes that I will share something inspirational or interesting here is what you have missed:
1-My baby is soon to be a baby no more. Since he has started WALKING I suppose he is technically a toddler now, but I refuse to acknowledge it. He is an expert at signing more (especially when he wants a vanilla wafer) and all done (when he realizes he isn't getting said vanilla wafer). He can play peek a boo and successfully covers at least one eye 50% of the time. And did I mention he is WALKING?!? Just checking to make sure you caught that part. He loves to look at books, flirt with any girl in a 50 ft radius, turn on the xBox (or anything else with a power switch), splash in Elly's bowl and be outside. I still believe he is part fish. He drinks about 4 glasses of water a day and would stay in the tub/pool all the time if we let him. He is so amazing and I love him so much.
2- Phil changes jobs which is fabulous. His schedule is more flexible (which I think accounts for some of my day disorientation) and he really likes what he is doing. I am so happy for him and for what a positive impact it has had on our family. It has been a little strange to have a real weekend, but don't worry, we are adjusting just fine.
3- We are buying a HOUSE!!!!!!! I have probably jinxed it by sharing it with the world via blog but I just have to share anyways. It will be so nice to have our own space with our own room that has a DOOR! It's the little things people. :)
4- I think that's all I've got....my blog therapy has done it's job and now I think I can go to bed with an empty noggin. Thank you world wide web.

MY MAY RESOLUTION
I'm not big on New Year's Resolutions. It started a few years back, but I just stopped making them. I think it has something to do with the fact that I would spend the months before New Years frivolously enjoying whatever bad habit I was soon going to give up. Losing weight? Eat all the chocolate cake and pumpkin bars in sight. Start reading more? Watch as much TV as humanly possible. You get the idea.
That being said, I am making a "May Resolution." Really, my mom and I have decided that we both have a little too much junk in the trunk. Mine is still hanging on from carrying around/nurturing Levi in the womb for 9 months. But since he is now 7 months old I figure it is time to get off the afforementioned booty and make a change. So my mom and I have decided to be walking buddies. Our schedules don't really match enough to walk outside so I made us a log that we will check off each day. I am hoping that with her to keep me accountable and without the "New Year's" attached to it that I will actually stick to this resolution.
So here's to seeing less of me in the near future! :)

Intentional Love
I have spent a lot of time lately thinking about family. I know it probably has a lot to do with my new role as a mother. It is so easy for me to take for granted all of the wonderful people I have in my life. My sweet baby boy is obviously one of the people I adore. He is such a joy. The way he crinkles his nose when he smiles at me, the way he cries (bellows is more like it) when I leave the room. How he crawls towards me when he plays on the floor. All the little ways that he shows me that he cares for me. It makes me wonder...Do the people I care for see this in everything I do? Do they see the little things?
During the course of a ladies' Bible study I am involved in, they challenged you to immediately go call/tell your mother that you love her. As it happened to be 11:30pm at the time, I didn't know that my mom would appreciate the declaration at that point. So I saved it. Two days later, I was leaving the house to run some errand or another, turned around and made a point of kissing her cheek and telling her I loved her. She lit up from within. You could see on her face the look I know is on mine when Levi climbs in my lap. She knew it wasn't a passing comment, it wasn't thrown out flippantly at the end of a phone conversation. It was just for her and I intended for her to know it.
So now I pass the challenge onto you. Tell the people you love that you love them. And make sure they know the declaration is INTENTIONAL!!!

If only life was a musical...
Some of you may think I am crazy, but I am only kinda joking. As I look out my window I think how much fun it would be to not just play in the now, but to SING while playing. And household chores would be so much more enjoyable...dishes, laundry, mopping the floors. A little twirl and a diddy with my mop would just make my day. And yes, I do occasionally sing and dance. And no, I do NOT have the best voice for it. Rogers and Hammerstein eat your hearts out.
I have been in a very musical mood lately. I think it really helps fight my winter blues. On my recent watch list: Fiddler on the Roof (I cried), Newsies (makes me laugh), Funny Face (wished I could go to Paris again), and the entire HSM series (just LOVE it). Whether you love them or hate them, you have to admit musicals are a classic piece of Americana...

I'm a Klutts
That's right...I'm a Klutts.
I'm also a Christian, a wife, a mother, a sister, a daughter, a friend, a cook, a foodie, a travel agent, a dreamer, and an avid reader.
Did I mention I'm a slow driver, a shower singer, a movie junkie, a terrible typist, a good listener, and a spontaneous choreographer.
Oh and I really am a klutz. :)
Welcome to my start into the world of blogging (again). We'll have to see how long I hang on this time. A big thanks to Lj for the name of my blog!
